Do I need to attend?
This program will be held in multiple locations of Polk County and is open to all CNAs who are in need of the mandatory topic requirements, listed above, to recertify in fall of 2007. *CPR skills is a mandatory topic. FLANA believes all CNAs, as health care professionals, should take a certified CPR course, every two years. Therefore, it is not included with this program.
How will the in-service be completed?
Mandatory topic educational materials will be displayed on learning boards. You will come to the location – on a date and time convenient to your schedule. You will be responsible for reading all materials available and taking a quiz on the materials presented. Your quizzes will be corrected prior to leaving the site and you will be issued a certificate of completion, if you pass the quiz with a 70% or better. We estimate the time you will spend reading and taking the quiz to be approximately 2 ½ hrs. Certificates issued will list the topics covered and 2.5 hrs. of in-service credit.
What if I have some of my mandatory classes, but not all, should I attend?
FLANA suggests that if you need three or more mandatory topic classes, this will still be a cost efficient and one stop way in which to get the classes. If you need only one or two of the mandatory topics, we suggest you order those topics individually through the association. An order form for our home in-service courses is included with this mailing.
What is the cost of this program? $25. for FLANA members; $50. for non members.
Scholarships are available. To apply for a scholarship, you must return the enclosed scholarship application, completed, along with your registration, form postmarked no later than 7 days prior to the date of the program which you wish to attend. No scholarships will be issued at the door on the day of the programs. Scholarship monies, designated by the grant award, are limited. |
